Scholars and interested parties are invited to submit abstracts (paper presentation) or short proposals (academic poster presentation) in the 3rd International Indonesian Forum for Asian Studies (IIFAS) conference entitled Borderless Communities and Nations with Borders: Challenges of Globalisation.

A collaboration of IIFAS with the Centre for Southeast Asian Social Studies (CSASS) Universitas Gadjah Mada, UGM (Gadjah Mada University) and the Department of International Relations Universitas Islam Indonesia, UII (Islamic University of Indonesia) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Location of Conference:
Due to an over whelming response The Gadjah Mada University Club was to small. The conference venue has moved to a larger venue and the opening and first day program will be held at the Sukadji Ranuwiharjo Auditorum at the Magister Manajemen building at the Universitas Gadjah Mada campus. Conference Focus:
This conference has an interdisciplinary Social Sciences focus drawing together; Social and Cultural Studies, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, History, Economics, International Relations, Education, Politics & Religious Cross-Cultural Studies. As well as Public Administration, Peace and Health Studies, Agriculture, Food Security and Environmental Studies. It will therefore also give importance to defence studies; radicalisation and counter-radicalisation, regional security policy, democratisation and conflict resolution as well as the politics of identity, heritage and related sub-themes. We invite international and national scholars, civil society organisations (CSO’s), government and non-government organisations (GO & NGO’s), students, professionals, corporate identities and members of the public to share in the related regional and international discussions.

Paper Abstract
Poster Proposal
Absentee Paper and Absentee Poster Submission (Recommended for delegates who face time restrains or travel hardship to attend.)

Procedure for Submitting Applications:
Delegates wishing to present their paper or poster presentations are invited to submit a one page abstract combined with a short CV (MS word format) to before the closing date. All paper abstracts and poster proposals are required to be submitted in English, likewise all presentations are in English.

Confirmation of Speaking Slot/Poster Presentation:
The IIFAS team will confirm acceptance of submissions within 3 days to enable delegates sufficient time to arrange their travel arrangements or requesting support from their institute.

The joint university committee has advised IIFAS that conference guests, presenters, speakers and absentee presenters are subject to a low registration commitment fee. Details and panels are noted at the university websites of UGM and UII – &
Your registration contribution or generously provided financial gifts will allow IIFAS to provide a small number of scholarships to challenged delegates to join this conference and who have submitted a supporting motivation appeal.

All accepted papers will be included in the ISBN general proceeding publication of the conference. Selected papers are invited to be included in a group of Scopus indexed journals. More information at a dedicated webpage.  Registered delegates are required to submit their full papers for a peer review process before the 15th of March 2017.
